"The Slack Family was absolutely amazing. I had such a wonderful time with
them, I wish they could have played longer than 4 hours! Thank you so much." -Rachel Vrooman
"We just wanted to thank you again for playing at our wedding on Sunday.
You guys sounded just great Trying to find a bluegrass band to play in
Virginia from Seattle via the
internet can be a little scary, and we
couldn't have been more pleased with your professionalism, your
performance and the music. My mom received so many positive comments
about you guys, and she said more than a few people at our wedding
wanted your card, so hopefully they were able to bend your ear for a
second to get the appropriate information
from you. If not, I will definitely pass your contact info on to my mom so she can send it to her
buddies.
Thank you so much for being patient with me as schedules were slid and
also
for being so kind as to learn a bluegrass version of "Trumpet
Voluntary." You guys were truly a huge part of making our wedding day
special and perfect.
Keep making great music!"

“Just wanted to let you know we are really enjoying your new Trains and Rain CD! You're all very talented! Jason and I really enjoy the songs that you wrote! We've passed the CD along to friends and family
so they can enjoy it, too. So many people prefer your music over that of many other bluegrass bands that have been around for quite some time! Looking forward to seeing you next month!” -LuAnne Melton
“I had the opportunity to hear you all play this past summer and really enjoyed your energy. My family is still talking about your talents. They were very impressed. Much luck in your future.” -Stacey McNerney
“Thanks again for everything at Governor Warner’s farewell party last night. You guys were awesome. We all had a blast and I know the Gov enjoyed it, too!” –Kelly Thomasson
“I just wanted to drip y’all a note to let you know of the influence you've had on this long-time hard-rocking metal-head. I have listened to hard rock
and heavy metal for probably 25 years now. I do listen to all kinds of music, but what you'll mostly find in the CD player in my truck is Metallica, Tool, etc.
WELL…You might remember around Halloween, you played at a picnic at the Ashland Berry Farm for the firm of Hunton & Williams. I really enjoyed listening to y’all
play and on impulse I bought your CD "Pickin’ up the Slack". Turns out that for some reason I just can't get that thing out of my CD player. It's pretty much just
been stuck in there ever since. I especially like "Fergus County Jail" and "Like a Train" - "Chloe" and "White Freightliner" are great tunes, too. All of them are
great to sing along with (drives my wife and kids crazy, that does).Anyhow, I still have and listen to my Metallica and Tool CDs, but I just wanted to let y’all know
that you've expanded my musical horizons and I really enjoy listening to your music! Thanks.” -Bill Taggart
"Friday evening was awesome. Thanks so much to you and the other 3 men in the Slack Family Blue Grass Band! We all enjoyed the music! Again, thanks for your part in making David and Kelly's dream wedding weekend come true.”–Sandy Allebach
